House Judiciary Probes Corrupt Georgia Prosecutor Fani Willis – The American Spectator

Bravo.

Here’s the headline from over there at Newsmax (where, full disclosure, I am a contributor):

Rep. Jordan Opens Probe Into Trump’s Georgia Indictment

Which is to say that the House Judiciary Committee, which Ohio’s Republican Rep. Jim Jordan chairs, is now opening an investigation into the corrupt Georgia prosecution of former President Trump by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Jordan’s letter to Willis says, in part, this:

Turning first to the question of motivation, it is noteworthy that just four days before this indictment, you launched a new campaign fundraising website that highlighted your investigation into President Trump.

Additionally, the forewoman of the special grand jury you convened to investigate President Trump earlier this year bragged during an unusual media tour about her excitement at the prospect of subpoenaing President Trump and getting to swear him in. Last week, the Fulton County Superior Court’s Clerk publicly released a list of criminal charges against President Trump reportedly hours before the vote of the grand jury.

A Fulton County court has disqualified you from targeting current Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones as part of your probe on the grounds that you actively supported and held fundraising events for his Democratic opponent. And unlike officials in other jurisdictions, Fulton County officials “have suggested [they] will process [the former President] as [a] typical criminal defendant[], requiring mug shots and possibly even cash bond.”

[T]here are questions about whether and how your office coordinated with DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith during the course of this investigation.

Then Jordan says this: “The timing of this prosecution reinforces concerns about your motivation.”

Bingo. And an understatement.

This prosecution of the former president — who was arraigned in Atlanta Thursday — is a brazenly corrupt enterprise engineered by a far-left prosecutor who used her Trump prosecution to raise campaign funds.

And don’t think millions of Americans aren’t noticing.

Take note.

Here was but one headline on the Tucker Carlson sit-down with former President Trump on X — formerly Twitter — as the first GOP presidential debate unfolded on Fox News. The headline was over there at Breitbart

Twitter Claims Donald Trump’s Counter-Debate Interview with Tucker Carlson Gets 33M Views in First 20 Minutes

Reuters headlined it this way:

Trump’s debate counter-programming draws millions of views on X

The Reuters story reported:

The 46-minute conversation with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson drew more than 74 million views, according to statistics on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Trump’s Tucker Interview The Most Watched Interview EVER, Beating Oprah & Michael Jackson

The Enquirer says the Trump–Tucker interview “has made history as the most watched interview ever recorded. Within 15 hours of being posted, the interview has amassed over 204 million views and that number is continuing to climb.”

Critics say the measurements do not report how long the audience watched, seemingly unaware that the exact same thing could be said about the Fox News GOP debate.

But the fact is the Trump–Tucker conversation was a massive draw.

The question, of course, is what does it mean? Why did millions make a point of streaming into the Trump-Tucker conversation instead of watching the GOP candidates debate?

And, in this space, the answer is obvious.

If the former president and the former Fox host have anything in common, it is that they are seen by millions of Americans as two seriously outspoken critics of the Swamp that is the American political establishment.

And in the case of Trump, his stance has provoked massively corrupt prosecutors in Washington, New York, and now Georgia to come after him legally, seriously weaponizing their government positions to try and silence him.

The significance of Rep. Jordan’s announcement cannot be underestimated.

The hard fact here is that the American Left and its Democrat Party operatives have set out in determined, decidedly fascist/authoritarian style to weaponize the American legal system to intimidate, silence, and imprison their political opponents and the opponents of the Biden administration.

To say the least, this weaponization of government cannot and must not ever be tolerated.

Kudos to Rep. Jordan for taking a leading role in that fight.

The time to fight back — not just for President Trump and his colleagues, but also for the soul of America itself — is at hand.
