New York Tries to Force Mail-Order Abortions On the Rest of the Country – The American

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James pressure CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid to fulfill orders of abortifacients in states where the law forbids killing unborn children.

“Unfortunately, building on a national pressure campaign by anti-choice forces, 20 Attorneys General have called on the pharmacies not to distribute this essential medication within their states, based on a restrictive interpretation of the law and misrepresentation of the facts,” they write the CEOs of the companies.

“We urge you not to allow these tactics to intimidate you, and to commit to making this critical medication available as widely as possible, based on a fair and unbiased interpretation of state and federal law.”

An unbiased interpretation grasps that Dobbs v. Jackson permits states to outlaw abortion and, to one degree or another, many do just that. Should Walgreens break the law in Ohio because the governor and attorney general desire that the company essentially act as though every state follows New York’s laws?
