VIDEO: ‘Forever Chemicals’ May Cause Infertility – The American Spectator

Poly-fluoroalkyl chemicals (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals,” could be linked to infertility — and they can be found in many common everyday products.

The Epoch Times released an article detailing the prevalence of these chemicals in cosmetics. It referenced a study that found a correlation between PFAS in womens’ bloodstreams and infertility, with chances of pregnancy falling 30 to 40 percent.

In addition to cosmetics, the chemicals are found in tap water, clothing, shampoo, conditioner, cleaners, non-stick cookware, food packaging, and much more. Notably, a study by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) found that nearly half of the tap water in the United States contains these chemicals. (RELATED: America Should Quit ‘Forever Chemicals’)

It’s also a carcinogen: A recent analysis from the Daily Mail found that cities with higher rates of PFAS in their water were linked to higher rates of cancer and pregnancy complications.

The effect of PFAS on women is not the only factor in the epidemic of infertility. Men’s sperm counts have declined over 50 percent worldwide between 1973 and 2018, according to a 2017 study in the Human Reproduction Update journal.

The significant rise of infertility is impacting the entire world. PFAS certainly may play a factor especially as it’s so widespread.

The research illustrates the importance of being mindful about health and the chemicals in everyday products. Luckily, there are many natural alternatives and solutions to the chemical-infused products that can be found with a little research.
