Don’t Forget: The Bidens Are Trash – The American Spectator

This isn’t a new topic, especially not for this column. In fact, back in 2021, I wrote an entry with a nearly identical title.

What occasioned the first foray into the “Bidens Are Trash” recognition was the news that our first family refused to acknowledge Navy Joan Roberts, the daughter of Joe Biden’s son Hunter. Four-year-old Navy Joan is the product of a brief liaison between Hunter and Lunden Roberts, an Arkansas stripper whom he met in Washington, D.C. A DNA test proved the paternity. But the Biden family pretends it isn’t so.

And there was recent news on the Hunter-as-pater-familias front, as Lunden Roberts moved in late December to provide little Navy Joan with her real family surname. Hunter marched into court to block it. He’s also attempting to have his child support payments lowered, which makes him one of the worst fathers in America.

The court filing is nothing if not entertaining. Lunden’s attorney has a supreme gift for mischief:

In late December, Ms Roberts asked Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer to allow their daughter to use the Biden name, claiming it would be beneficial to the girl later in life.

She argued the name is “now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute and politically powerful” and it would open up opportunities for Navy, “just like it has for other members of the Biden family”.

KNWA reports that the filing includes 13 bullet points supporting the name change request including that Mr Biden was a “wildly successful businessman”; her biological uncle, the late Beau Biden, “was a man of high moral character, loved and well-regarded by all, and the former Attorney General of the State of Delaware”; and her grandfather is the current President of the United States.

The request also states that “the defendant, the President, First Lady, and other members of the Biden family remain estranged from the child”.

“To the extent, this is misconduct or neglect, it can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family,” the court filing states.

But wait. You won’t believe what came next:

Mr Biden has argued against the value of his last name, The New York Post reports, saying that his family name is now a lightning rod for criticism and would deny the child a “peaceful existence”.

His lawyer filed a motion asking Judge Meyer to deny the request, arguing that Navy should decide about using the name herself once “the disparagement of the Biden name is not at its height”.

In making the argument against Ms Roberts, Mr Biden used her own criticisms and motions in court documents against her.

His lawyers pointed to court filings that reference federal investigations into Mr Biden’s tax affairs and dealings with Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

He claims her motivation is “political warfare” against the Biden family and references her earlier attempt to redact their daughter’s name and other identifying information from court records and her “disparaging comments in various other motions and responses”.

That’s hilarious, isn’t it? “You don’t want my family name. I ruined that. So you can’t have it.”

One sympathizes with Hunter — to an extent. The damage he’s done to his name came largely at the behest of The Big Guy, to whom he was kicking up monies earned in those greaseball deals with Burisma and the Chinese, among others.

And we also found out recently how the kick-up worked:

Hunter Biden claimed he paid $49,910 a month to live at President Joe Biden’s Delaware residence where classified documents were discovered, a document shows.

The file, labeled “background screening test,” shows Hunter Biden lived in the president’s Wilmington, Delaware, residence between March 2017 and February 2018. Hunter Biden also claimed to “own” the property, according to the document.

The document was originally discovered on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, according to the Washington Examiner, and was reshared on Twitter by the New York Post’s Miranda Devine.

Well, there you go.

Ne’er-do-well sons are often prevailed upon to pay rent for lodgings in Ma and Pa’s basement. It’s almost never $50k per month.

On the other hand, since the rental agreement included access to state secrets stashed in the garage next to Pa’s vintage Corvette and elsewhere about the house, maybe the motivation wasn’t money laundering after all.

And since we also found out Monday that there are no visitor logs available for the Bidens’ Wilmington mansion, we have no idea who else was invited to peruse the files stashed in nooks and crannies throughout the abode.

And we didn’t know about any of this because Joe Biden didn’t list that swag under “rental income” on his taxes.

We’re coming to the point, with the sudden disclosure of so much material that many voters would certainly have liked to have known in advance of the 2020 election and 2022 midterms, where it isn’t just conservatives and other non-Democrats who recognize what a collection of sleazeballs the Bidens are.

Oh, who are we kidding? The Democrats all know it, too. They just don’t see it as a problem.

Except maybe they do.

Joe Rogan has a point. He says all of these late-breaking revelations form a pretty clear pattern. There’s some not-safe-for-work language in here, but the sentiments expressed behind it are awfully reasonable:

Tucker Carlson said more or less the same thing. As did Christopher Roach at American Greatness.

Biden Filegate looks less and less like a Nixonian Modified Limited Hangout and more and more like somebody has decided to unload Dirty Joe before he tries to cement himself as the Democrats’ nominee for president in 2024.

In other words, we all know he’s trash. He’s been trash for a very undistinguished and sordid 50 years in public life. But it might well be that his party has decided to bring him to the city dump.

It’s exceptionally difficult to sympathize. The Bidens have done it to themselves. If Rogan and Carlson are correct, I for one can’t wait to say “good riddance” even if what comes next could easily be worse.
