Summer Mohler leads Heath girls bowling to victory against New Lex
Summer Mohler rolled games of 199 and 173 for the Heath girls bowling team Monday in a victory against New Lexington, 1,827-1,344.
Alexis Martin added games of 158 and 149, Kirsten Cheek a high game of 147 and Kat Boyd games of 145 and 138 for the Bulldogs.
In the boys meet, Payton Love rolled games of 246 and 207 to lead the Bulldogs in a loss to the Panthers, 2,236-2,086. Bryce Holmes added games of 216 and 191 and Oliver Walton and Kam Smith each a high game of 159.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lakewood falls on road
A 15-8 edge in the third quarter for host West Muskingum (9-4) sent Lakewood to a 38-33 loss.
Grace Sturgell hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second half and led the Lancers (5-7) with nine points. Charlee Palmer, Becca Streets and Jaylie Maas added seven points each.
Northridge drops home game
Reese Callan’s eight points led Northridge (5-8) in a 45-23 loss to visiting Buckeye Valley.
SWIMMING
NC’s Pribonic wins pair
Isabella Pribonic won the 200 individual medley (2:13.66) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.65) on Saturday, leading Newark Catholic during a meet against host Columbus Academy and Gahanna.
Ella Schirtzinger added a runner-up in the 100 butterfly (1:04.80) and a fourth in the 100 free (1:01.40), and Gracie Collins placed fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:08.19).
Newark’s Hatfield wins two
Maryn Hatfield won the 200 freestyle (2:46.84) and 100 free (1:09.36) for Newark on Friday against visiting Whetstone.
In the boys meet, Leyton Ricketts won the 100 backstroke (1:18.47).
Runner-up finishers for the girls were Savanna Barnes in the 200 individual medley (3:32.93), Adeline Tracy 50 free (39.14) and Morgan Woodruff 100 butterfly (1:42.38), and runner-up finishers for the boys were Robert Wright in the 200 free (2:43.39), Mitchell Mazzone 100 fly (1:42.15), Hayden Flores 100 back (1:31.55) and Jeremy Schweiger 100 breaststroke (1:33.52).
