Louisville-area players chosen for Ohio-Kentucky All-Star hoops games

Several basketball players from the Louisville area have been selected to play in the 29th annual Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Games.

Set for April 9 at Thomas More University, the games will match some of the top boys and girls players from both states in the Class of 2022. The girls’ game is set for 5 p.m., with the boys’ game to follow at 7 p.m.

KHSAA basketball:Greg Willis named new boys basketball coach at Ballard 

Louisville-area players chosen for the boys team are Ballard’s Maker Bar, Bullitt East’s Tucker Blanford, Pleasure Ridge Park’s Victor Lado, Fern Creek’s Darien Lewis and Male’s Dez Lindsay. PRP’s Larry Kihnley is an assistant coach.

Christian Academy’s Jaya McClure will represent the Louisville area in the girls game.

Kentucky boys – Jordan Akal (Harlan), Maker Bar (Ballard), Tucker Blanford (Bullitt East), Turner Buttry (Bowling Green), Colby Fugate (Paintsville), James Jewell (Marion County), Victor Lado (Pleasure Ridge Park), Darien Lewis (Fern Creek), Dez Lindsay (Male), Andrew Mason (Bardstown), Jay Milburn (Campbellsville), Mitchell Rylee (Covington Catholic), Jabrion Spikes (Caldwell County), Cade Stinnett (Greenwood), Jevonte Turner (Knox Central). Head coach – James “Boo” Brewer (Bardstown). Assistant coach – Larry Kihnley (Pleasure Ridge Park).
