HGTV ‘Urban Oasis’ home for sale

Less than a month after announcing the results of the drawing for HGTV’s “Urban Oasis” home giveaway, the winner has decided to put the cozy emerald green bungalow on the market.

That’s right: the dream home, located at 6185 Evanston Avenue in Broad Ripple, is now for sale. For a listing price of just $549,900, it could be yours.

The property listing describes the home as an “urban oasis (with) pops of colors & smart systems throughout.”

The house was part of HGTV’s annual “Urban Oasis” giveaway, which awards a fully remodeled and furnished home to one lucky winner in a different “vibrant” U.S. city each year. Past victors have won homes in a variety of cities, from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The winner of the HGTV Urban Oasis 2021 sweepstakes, according to a press release, was Rose Caponey of Marana, Arizona. The network announced Caponey as the winner March 1.

She said she entered the drawing twice a day every day. Her name was chosen out of 75 million entries.

“I have been entering the HGTV giveaway for years,” she said in an HGTV video interview. “I have the email set up so every morning I get the email and just go in and enter twice.”

“My husband would ask ‘What are you doing?’ and I would say ‘I’m winning us a new home!'” Caponey told HGTV.

Caponey said in the video that she’s never been to Indianapolis or Indiana, despite now owning a home there.

The three bedroom, three bathroom house was renovated and designed by Atlanta designer Brian Patrick Flynn. Flynn designed the house to capture the “super carefree, happy, supportive vibe that you see in Broad Ripple,” he previously told IndyStar.

The house boasts bold color choices, from bright-yellow walls to rusty pink, a two-car garage, airy kitchen, spacious backyard and comes with plenty of what the property listing calls “wow factor:” The stunning all-white master bath comes with a huge bathtub and shower.
