OHP-Marysville DECA Students Attend Ohio Career Development Conference


COLUMBUS – The Ohio Hi-Point Career Center – Marysville DECA members had a great showing at the annual State Career Development Conference in Columbus last Friday and Saturday.

During the school year, approximately 2,500 of Ohio DECA’s student members take part in the organization’s conferences, allowing them to compete for local and state titles. The competitions are designed to mimic real-life business situations and test students’ academic understanding and skills development.

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center – OHP – Marysville students receiving recognition at the state level were:
Ashlyn Etherington & Elle Martter International Business Plan – 1st place
Mack Hamilton Accounting Applications Series – 5th place
Delaney Schmidt Entrepreneurship Series – 5th place
Cole Macey Restaurant and Food Service Management Series – 7th place
Graham Guider Food Marketing Series -10th place
Gigi Bix & Abby Luelleman Integrated Marketing Campaign – Service 11th place
Skyla Hickok Principles of Hospitality and Tourism -12th place
Lilliana Wolford Principles of Marketing -12th place

DECA is an international student organization with over 200,000 members and develops leaders in Business, Marketing, Finance, Hospitality, and Entrepreneurship. Students who are enrolled in the Supply Chain Management program at Marysville High School are eligible to be members.
