Cinema Columbus Film Festival Debuts in 2022

After a two year delay, the Cinema Columbus Film Festival is ready to roll out the red carpet. Originally slated for a 2020 debut, the event was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but was re-announced today as kicking off this spring.

The event, presented by CAPA, will showcase a collection of new independent films and short films between April 27 and May 1 across multiple locations including the Drexel Theater, Gateway Film Center, Studio 35 and the Wexner Center for the Arts. A full list of films and showtimes will be announced in the coming weeks.

Film industry professional Molly Kreuzman has been tapped to coordinate the inaugural Cinema Columbus festival.

“Since moving back to Columbus, I have been so impressed with the city’s growth in the depth and variety of its cultural offerings, and I’m excited to helm this event that expands that growth into the genre of independent film,” stated Kreuzman. “I look forward to working with our partners and the film community to create an annual event that celebrates filmmakers and the art of filmmaking. This will also provide an opportunity for the film lovers of Columbus and beyond to experience works that will spark curiosity, conversation, and a deeper understanding of the world through independent cinema.”
