Burgan Real Estate has added Anthony Marchionda to its team of real estate agents.

Marchionda, of Poland, graduated from Youngstown State University and spent time in Italy studying at Kent State Florence.

“The addition of Anthony Marchionda continues to demonstrate how our culture of committing to the growth and success of agents, at any point through their career, makes life better for them and our clients,” Patrick Burgan, co-owner and broker of Burgan Real Estate, said in a news release. “We are very excited to add Anthony to the Burgan Bunch.”

Marchionda said the 45-year-old independent brokerage is the “right fit” for him.

“Burgan Real Estate is growing fast and is filled with great people who are team-oriented. I am truly anxious to grow in the real estate industry along with Burgan and their mission,” Marchionda said.

Some substitute teachers in the Valley get a pay raise

Substitute teachers working through the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio’s substitute teacher consortium service will now be paid an increased rate of $110 per day.

Teachers in the consortium service the following locations:

  • Austintown Local Schools;
  • Boardman Local Schools;
  • Campbell City Schools;
  • Canfield Local Schools;
  • Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio;
  • Mahoning County Career and Technical Center;
  • Poland Local Schools;
  • Struthers City Schools.

Youngstown Blue Coats to collect donations at Boscov’s

The Youngstown Blue Coats bus will be parked in front of Boscov’s at Eastwood Mall from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday to collect donations.

The organization will accept donations of new or gently used coats, blankets, hats, gloves, boots, scarves, sleeping bags and hoodies, as well as new socks and hand/foot warmers.

The mission of the Youngstown Blue Coats, which is run by volunteers, is to prevent the freezing and injury caused by extreme weather exposure to the homeless and those in financial need, with a special focus on military veterans, a news release states.

Meijer offering free home delivery through Jan. 29

Meijer is offering free home delivery on orders of more than $35 through Jan. 29.

Customers can shop online or via the Meijer app for more than 100,000 products, including grocery items, toys, pet food, beauty products and beer and wine, a news release states. Customers can schedule a delivery or pickup time that is convenient for them, and a personal shopper will hand-select the items according to customer preferences.

The service is available to customers at all Meijer stores.
