Elder High School license plates available soon through Ohio BMV

Elder High School's new Ohio license plate.

A new Elder High School Ohio license plate was unveiled Friday during a school assembly, according to a news release from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The plate features the school’s purple panther mascot and is one of more than 370 specialty Ohio license plates. Nearly 20 high schools and school districts have their own plates, but the only one in Southwest Ohio had been St. Xavier High School.

Elder, established in the early 1900s, is an all-boys school in East Price Hill. More than 720 students were enrolled this school year in grades 9-12, according to the school’s website.

“The Elder community plays a large role in the Greater Cincinnati area,” Ohio  Rep. Cindy Abrams said in the release. “They strive to not only be educators for young men academically, but also challenge students to ‘strive for the higher things’ in all aspects of life. This plate will honor and support the Elder community.”
