Director Lingusamy’s production house Thirrupathi Brothers, which produced the Kamal Haasan-starrer Utthama Villain, has issued a statement clarifiying that the film they had produced on a first copy basis had made them incur huge losses. Director Lingusamy’s production house Thirrupathi Brothers has clarified that the film, Utthama Villain, featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead and directed by Ramesh Aravind, was a flop and that it had made them incur huge losses.

The production house issued the clarification in the wake of a claim that was made on a popular YouTube channel that director Lingusamy had said that the film was a hit.

Taking to social media site X to post the clarification regarding the film it produced and which eventually released in 2015, the firm said Utthama Villain was not a hit film, but instead, was a film that made the production house incur huge financial losses.
