Meghan, Duchess of Sussex tries to “keep [her] distance” from social media.
The 42-year-old duchess – who has son Prince Archie, four, and daughter Princess Lilibet, two, with Prince Harry – has revealed that she’s made a concerted effort over recent years to distance herself from social media platforms, after she struggled to deal with online criticism amid her pregnancies.
Asked how she’s been able to handle online toxicity, the duchess said at the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas: “Yes, social media is an environment that I think has a lot of that.
“You know, I think … it’s really interesting as I can reflect on it, I keep my distance from it right now just for my own well-being, but the bulk of the bullying and abuse that I was experiencing on social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and Lili, and with a newborn with each of them.
“You just think about that, and to really wrap your head around why people would be so hateful.
“It’s not catty, it’s cruel. And why you would do that, certainly, when you’re pregnant, with a newborn, we all know as moms, it’s such a tender and sacred time.”
The duchess has tried to protect her children from online toxicity, too.
The former ‘Suits’ actress – who married Prince Harry in 2018 – explained: “I think you know, you could either succumb to it, nearly succumb to how painful that it is, and maybe in some regards, because I was pregnant, that mammalian instinct just kicked in – you do everything you can to protect your child, and as a result, protect yourself, too.”

Caprice hates cancel culture.
The 52-year-old model – who was born in California, but lives in London – believes cancel culture can be “toxic” and Caprice has insisted that she wants “no part” of it.
During an appearance at a Health and Wealth Summit in Tiverton, south-west England, Caprice told MailOnline: “We are so fortune to live in this country and have freedom of speech. Don’t let anyone take that away.
“We have to appreciate these rights and fight for them.”
Caprice acknowledges that mistakes are part and parcel of life. However, Caprice believes cancel culture can be really dangerous.
She said: “I want no part of cancel culture. We all make mistakes but with cancel culture whether you survive or not is down to who you are.
“That is not right – who are we to judge? I think we have to be very careful.”
Caprice ultimately hopes that the “toxic trend” will disappear one day.
She shared: “People are trying to cancel free speech. Some people just try to cancel someone because they have an opinion that is not acceptable to them.
“I really hope the toxic trend goes away.”
Meanwhile, Caprice recently revealed that she felt “no connection” with Fred Durst – despite being flown to New York for their first date.
The Limp Bizkit star flew the blonde beauty from London to the Big Apple after they met at the MTV Awards in 2001 – but Caprice didn’t feel any spark with the musician.
During an appearance on the ‘My Dirty Laundry’ podcast, she said: “Oh, it was a bit vacuous, you know, the conversation.
“He’s a really nice guy. A super nice guy, but there was just no connection.”

Oprah Winfrey is making a documentary about weight-loss drug Ozempic.
The 70-year-old broadcaster will sit down with medical experts and patients to explore the “radical impact” of prescription diet medications such as Mounjaro and Wegovy in what will be her first primetime special in three years, which she agreed to because of the “very personal” subject matter.
In a statement announcing ABC’s ‘An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution’, she said: “It is a very personal topic for me and for the hundreds of millions of people impacted around the globe who have for years struggled with weight and obesity.
“This special will bring together medical experts, leaders in the space and people in the day-to-day struggle to talk about health equity and obesity with the intention to ultimately release the shame, judgment and stigma surrounding weight.”
The ‘Color Purple’ star – who stepped down from the board of directors of WW, formerly WeightWatchers, last week after confirming in December she had been using a weight-loss medication – will interview her guests, who are described as “the country’s leading medical experts and everyday people” in front of a live studio audience as she attempts to find answers to topics such as what are the side effects of such medications, what are they really intended for, and why is there “shame” surrounding taking medication, as well as what will be their future in society and culture.
Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group said: “We are thrilled…
