According to Stanford Medicine one modern vaping device contains around 650mg of nicotine. That’s equivalent to 590 cigarettes.

By partnering with schools and organizations focused on youth services, the Great Rivers United Way will adopt a comprehensive strategy to diminish vaping and nicotine consumption among young individuals.

This will involve executing a variety of initiatives aimed at enlightening caregivers, agency personnel, and the youth themselves about the physical and psychological consequences of nicotine and e-cigarette usage.

“Over the years we have seen a reduction in the use of cigarettes which is great”, says Diana Diazgranados, project director of Better Together. “3% Of young people are saying that they smoke cigarettes compared to almost 20% saying that they’re vaping. So as one nicotine problem has reduced, we’ve seen the explosion of another.”

Additionally, it will empower young people with resources to cultivate constructive decision-making abilities, handle stress, and develop effective coping mechanisms.

If you are looking to quit vaping one resource you can reach out to is the Truth Initiative. You can also text DITCHVAPE to 88709 for resources.
