Marxism’s footprints in history are incredibly relevant when trying to understand the motivations of the radical Left today.

Historically, Marxism’s oppressed-vs.-oppressor construct was narrow and class-based — the bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat. Today, in its expansion to the culture, Marxism comprises a much bigger tent that includes new victim classes: gender, race, and sexual politics. Bella Dodd began organizing for the Communist Party in the 1930s and was tasked with infiltrating American education and the Catholic Church. Her story is one of redemption, as she left the Communist Party and exposed its inner workings. Her testimony, outlined in The American Spectator editor Paul Kengor’s The Devil and Bella Dodd, casts a bright light on the reality that Marxism is not merely economic. Marxist tactics extend beyond economics to include the permeation of religion, education, and culture.
