State TV Sends Off Fauci – The American Spectator

Dr. Anthony Fauci appropriately wrapped up a career that witnessed him enjoying a higher salary than the president of the United States by finding himself lionized in a state television documentary.

On Tuesday, PBS’s American Masters portrayed Fauci as Fauci would portray Fauci. And they did so largely on the taxpayer’s dime.

Still, some embarrassing moments, if by accident, escaped the cutting room floor. These included exchanges with Rand Paul cut to make Fauci look good but making him look bad to anyone paying attention.

The telling scene witnessed him hassling, along with Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser, an African-American man about him refusing to submit to a vaccine (it starts about five minutes into this video). “They’re Republicans,” Fauci says of people in “other states” (as the mayor put it) refusing the vaccine. “They don’t like to be told what to do.”

Fauci insists in characterizing himself as apolitical but in almost Tourette’s-like fashion cannot resist vilifying right-wingers.

He knocked Republicans ducking the shot in the midst of visiting, almost like a missionary venturing into unexplored territory accompanied by a local guide, with unvaccinated working-class and poor blacks.

“When you start talking about paying people to get vaccinated, when you start talking about incentivizing things to get people vaccinated, there’s something else going on with that,” a black man tells Fauci and Bowser.

As they turn their backs and walk away, he informs them that their crusade relies on “fear.”
