Cornerback A.J. Green re-signs with the Cleveland Browns for one year

Browns cornerback A.J. Green (38) celebrates with safety John Johnson III (43) after intercepting Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow during the first half Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, in Cleveland.

The Browns made official a move which had been known since Sunday evening when they announced they had re-signed cornerback A.J. Green on Wednesday.

Green, who’s been with the team since 2020, was signed to a one-year deal. He was originally a exclusive rights free agent, but the Browns did not tender him at the same time they did two others, cornerback Thomas Graham Jr. and defensive tackle Ben Stille, back on March 7.

“A.J. has grown up in our system and has gotten better every year since he first joined the team as an undrafted free agent,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said in a statement. “He’s been ready every time he has been called upon and his versatility is something that we value.”
