Brody McDaniel’s hot shooting vaults Utica to win at East Knox
Brody McDaniel erupted for six 3-pointers Tuesday, shooting the Utica boys basketball team to an 85-61 victory at East Knox.
McDaniel piled up 24 points, one of three 20-point scorers for Utica (13-8). Trenton Collins and Roman Gamble added 23 points apiece, and Logan Gosnell hit a pair of 3s for six.
Johnstown drops road game
The third quarter was the difference as Johnstown fell 50-37 at Bishop Hartley.
Cody Siegfried totaled 17 points for the Johnnies (13-9), who were outscored 22-13 in the third quarter. Caleb Schneider added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Robertson catches fire
Will Robertson racked up 24 points, hitting six 3-pointers, for Heath in a 72-49 loss at Reynoldsburg.
Brayden Bayles and Preston DeVito scored nine points apiece with Bayles adding three steals for the Bulldogs (12-9).
Perez leads GCA
Gabe Perez buried five 3-pointers and totaled 19 points for Granville Christian in an 88-51 loss to visiting Bishop Rosecrans.
Andrew Benvie added 15 points and Bentley Johnson 10 for the Lions (5-17).

GCA falls on road
Brianna Hubbard’s 16 points led short-handed No. 10 Granville Christian (11-12) in a 42-23 loss at No. 7 Delaware Christian in a Division IV first-round game.
Lakewood loses at Pleasant
A 15-5 difference in the second quarter dropped No. 20 Lakewood in a 17-point halftime hole during a 52-30 loss at No. 4 Pleasant in a Division III first-round game. Northridge visits the Spartans at 7 p.m. Friday.
Rachel Crist led the Lancers (8-15) with eight points.
