Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State earns consensus All-America status
Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was named first-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday.
Harrison, who was also added to All-America first-teams by the Football Writers Association of America and Walter Camp Foundation last week, garnered consensus status following the latest selection.

The three teams are among the five used by the NCAA for determining consensus and unanimous All-America statuses. The others from the Sporting News and America Football Coaches Association are to be announced on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Stepping up as the Buckeyes’ top receiving threat in a breakout sophomore season, Harrison caught 72 passes for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The last wide receiver from Ohio State to become a consensus All-American was Terry Glenn in 1995. Glenn also won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver that fall.
