Democrats need to show more leadership – Santa Cruz Sentinel

Even though the Red Wave fizzled, Democrats were linked with Critical Race Theory, crime, non-binary/wokeism, and communism/socialism. Now Democrats need to seize a new narrative: Fix entitlements (Social Security/Medicare), fix the tax-code (Musk and Bezos need to pay their share), fix the Defense Colossus ($803 billion), and fix health-care. Bernie Sanders and Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) got standing-ovations at Fox News town halls on fixing health care.

Republicans have become an obstructionist “cult,” while the Democratic platform is identity-politics and casting Republicans as Others. Democrats need to stop playing scared defense, and assume a “leadership narrative.” Biden and the Democrats to the McConnell/McCarthy and the Republicans: “Tear down that wall” (of no no no obstructionism).
