Perry’s three HR’s spark Jackets past No. 9 TNU


NASHVILLE, Ohio – Alan Perry clubbed three homers and Cedarville knocked off NCBWA Division II No. 9 Trevecca, 11-8, in the second game of a G-MAC twinbill at Jackson Field.

The Trojans outslugged the visitors in the opener, 21-10.

Perry went deep to left field with a trio of two-run bombs in the first, fifth, and seventh innings to total six RBI.

Bryce Hughes hit a solo shot and Lucas Rotello added a two-run homer. Blais Hale had three hits with a double and two runs scored.

Winning pitcher Ethan Milburn, 6-2, struck out three batters in five innings. Reid Hale fanned two more while picking up his fifth save.

In the first game, the Trojans totaled 21 hits  including four home runs and scored at least once in all eight bats.

Hughes, Blais Hale, and Daniel Sewak all went deep for the Yellow Jackets, 18-19 overall and 12-9 G-MAC.

Stinger Notes:

  • No less than eight different CU players had two or more hits in the first game.
  • Blais Hale and Sam Punzi delivered three hits each in the opener and Sewak drove in four runs.
  • The first contest saw a combined total of 31 runs, 40 hits, five doubles, seven homers, and 300 pitches.
  • Each team recorded 11 hits apiece in the nightcap..
  • Hale went 6-for-9 in the two games and scored five runs.
  • Cedarville has out-homered the opposition 45-26 this spring.
  • Payton Eeles has hit safely in 35-of-37 games and reached base at least once in every contest.
