Roundup: Bath’s Maley throws no-hitter during baseball Classic


LIMA — Wyatt Maley allowed no hits and one walk while striking out seven in five innings as Bath defeated Lima Senior 10-0 as part of Saturday’s Lima Sporting Goods Classic baseball tournament at Lima Senior.

Ricky Deppe had two hits and four RBI and Quintin Collins had three hits, including a double, and three RBI.

The Wildcats went on to defeat Shawnee 6-2 in the championship game.

Austin Williams had two doubles and an RBI for Bath. Luke Cowan had two hits for Shawnee.

CELINA — Colton Muether knocked in R Busse with the winning run with two outs in the top of the 10th inning.

Muether and winning pitcher Trevor Bergman each had two hits and an RBI. Max Baumstark doubled for Celina.

VANLUE — Jebadiah McGue, Hayden Oates and Kevin Eckstein combined to allow no hits and no walks while striking out six in five innings. Mason Stuck had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI, Hayden Oates had three hits, including a double, and four RBI and Xavier Stuck had a triple and three RBI.

ROCKFORD — Colin Bailey had three hits and an RBI and Braylon Scalf had two hits, including a double, for Jefferson. Apollo Thomas doubled for Parkway.

CONVOY — Nick Helt scored on Parker Spieth’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. Nathan Lichtle and winning pitcher Carson Hunter allowed five hits and five walks while striking out 11. Ayden Lichtenstieger also doubled for the Knights. Riggs Tobe doubled for Fort Recovery.

ST. HENRY — Winning pitcher Grant Jolly and Grant Bauer combined to allow one hit and four walks while striking out nine. Clayton Everman had St. Henry’s hit, and he also had an RBI.

Lima City Tournament

LIMA — Bath won the team title with 28 points at the University of Northwestern Ohio followed by Lima Central Catholic (25), Marion Harding (24), Elida (17), Bluffton (8) and Lima Senior (7).

LCC’s Max Gaumier (first singles), Bath’s Ezra Bolon (second singles), LCC’s Lorenzo Arrighi (third singles), Bath’s Austin Miller and Will Miller (first doubles) and Bath’s Caiden Bush and Britton Hall (second doubles) won their divisions.

Tipp City Invitational

TIPP CITY — Shawnee finished second behind team champ Beavercreek. Shawnee’s Gabe Burke won the first singles title. Teammates Mason Stahl (second singles) and Mac Davis (third singles) were second in their divisions. Salah Muhammad and Gabe Rutter (first doubles) and Seth Greishop and Shashank Chanomolu (second doubles) were third and second respectively in their divisions for Shawnee.

St. Marys’ Connor Milner and Isaac Wibbeler were second in first doubles and teammate Rhett Chisholm was third in third singles.

Evelyn Meyer had two hits, including a double, for Spencerville.
