Charles Monte Obituary (1935 – 2022) – Mentor, OH

Charles “Chuck” A. Monte, 86, of Mentor, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Altercare of Mentor. He was born November 13, 1935 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to the late Charles and Lucille Monte. Chuck grew up in a loving family with his five siblings. He had a nice childhood and when he became old enough, he joined the Army during the Korean War. After his time served, he was honorably discharged and went to work as a manager for Montgomery Ward in Michigan. He then moved back to Ohio and managed three Lawson stores and started raising a family. As his sons continued to grow he decided to change careers into Real Estate. In his free time, he taught his sons how to bowl and golf. When his daughter was born he had to take on new lessons for growing girls. He still taught his daughter how to bowl and golf but she also taught him how to do hair and nails. He loved spending time with his growing family. As the children grew he was able to then join a bowling league with his sons and teach his daughter to drive. As the years moved on he was blessed with three grandchildren and loved to see them every chance he got. Chuck was always a happy guy and loved to watch his western movies and listen to country music. He had a great sense of humor and would always light up the room. Survivors include his children, Scott (Giselle) Monte, Brian (Jaime) Monte and Rayette (Mike) Koryta; grandchildren, Aiden and Grayson Monte and Hayden Koryta and brothers, John (Jan) Monte, Don Monte and Rick (Carol) Monte.Preceding Chuck in death are his sister, Patricia Hughes and brother, Jim MonteThe family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060.
