Waterford Commercial and Savings Bank announces CEO retirement, succession plan | News,


WATERFORD — The chief executive officer at the Waterford Commercial and Savings Bank is retiring and her successor named, the Board of Directors has announced.

Christina Combs will be succeeded by Katie Tucker, the board said.

Combs began her career at Beneficial Finance Co. in Marietta where she worked for 25 years. In 2003, she became vice president of lending at Waterford Bank. In 2013 she was promoted to CEO and has served successfully in this role for the past nine years, culminating her career in the financial industry of over 45 years.

Combs is a native of Churchtown and resides in Beverly with her husband Rob. She is looking forward to spending time with her two daughters and plans on traveling during her retirement.

Tucker is a graduate of Waterford High School and holds a bachelor of arts degree from John Carroll University. Upon graduation from college, she served is the U.S. Army as a transportation officer for eight years, serving in Alaska, Thailand, Australia, Hawaii and Virginia before leaving the military.

After her military service, she obtained an associate degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu. She then went on to serve as the executive director of the Department of Ohio, American Legion Auxiliary for 10 years. Tucker has served on the Waterford bank board of directors since 2015 and is now a full-time employee at the bank.

She attended the Barret Graduate School of Banking at in Memphis, Tenn. Tucker enjoys the opportunity to assist fellow veterans and others in the community where she grew up.

Tucker resides in Beverly with her husband, Troy. Katie and Troy are active members and volunteers of American Legion Post 389 and together, they also run Big Food Little Kitchen, a food truck and fun weekend project.

Combs and Tucker have been working together and transitioning into their new roles. Combs will continue to serve on the Board of Directors and will be consulting for the bank in the near future.
