ROOST Cleveland hotel units open in May Co. building in downtown Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio — ROOST Cleveland, which consists of 62 extended-stay hotel units in the historic May Co. building off Public Square, is now open for booking.

Bedrock, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert’s Detroit-based real estate company, partnered with Method Co. to operate the hotel portion of the Euclid Avenue building. Method Co., based in Philadelphia, will operate the hotel. The developer, which announced the then-upcoming project in August, noted the opening in a news release Tuesday.

The hotel units in the downtown Cleveland building span three floors. They range from studios to three-bedroom units, with furnishings and amenities one associates with standard apartments, along with housekeeping and maintenance services. Guests will also have access to the building’s amenities.

Bedrock in 2017 bought the May Co. building, which dates to 1915. It started leasing apartments in August 2021, following renovations to create 307 high-end units.

Method previously opened ROOST locations in Philadelphia. It has plans to open locations in Tampa and Detroit, according to the news release.
