March Madness printable bracket: 7 seed Ohio State draws Loyola Chicago; 13 seed Akron


CLEVELAND, Ohio – The March Madness bracket is out, and Ohio will be well represented as usual. You can find the printable bracket here.

After losing 71-68 on Thursday night to Penn State in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament, Ohio State earned a No. 7 seed. The Buckeyes (19-11) will play take on 10th-seeded Loyola Chicago (25-7) out of the Missouri Valley Conference. That game will in Pittsburgh on Friday.

The Mid-American Conference champion Akron Zips earned a 13 seed and will play UCLA on Thursday in Portland, Oregon, as part of the East Region.

The Zips earned their first NCAA bid since 2013 by winning the MAC tournament on Saturday night over Kent State, ending the Flashes’ 14-game winning streak.

And Horizon League champion Wright State will play near home at the University of Dayton on Wednesday, in a play-in matchup against other No. 16 seed, Bryant.

Top-ranked Gonzaga was named the No. 1 overall seed for a second straight tournament on Sunday when the bracket was announced. The Zags aren’t undefeated as they were a year ago. They are 26-3 with their eighth West Coast Conference Tournament title in nine seasons.

That gave the Zags one of the 32 automatic berths in the bracket with 36 at-large berths available. Defending champion Baylor was in the running for one of the other No. 1 seeds along with Arizona and Kansas.

No. 9 Tennessee grabbed one of the automatic bids available Sunday by beating Texas A&M for the Southeastern Conference Tournament title. Richmond stole a bid by winning the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Yale won the Ivy League tourney.

Iowa from the Big Ten and Houston from the American Athletic Conference won automatic berths within 30 minutes of the bracket release.
