A Florida man pleaded guilty to deliberately burning skid marks on a gay-pride rainbow crosswalk that had just been painted on a Florida intersection while he was participating in rally for ex-President Donald Trump‘s birthday.
Alexander Jerich, 20, of Lake Worth, Florida, confessed on Tuesday in a Palm Beach County court to felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor reckless driving, according to the Associated Press.
His sentencing date has not been set.
On June 14, 2021, Jerich can be seen on video revving the engine of his father’s white pickup truck while flying a blue Trump flag at the intersection of Northeast First Street and Northeast Second Avenue in Delray Beach.
He then spins his tires as his dad’s truck moves diagonally through the intersection leaving black skid marks 20 feet long over the intersection painted in the rainbow flag colors of the gay pride movement. It had only been painted on the road the day before to celebrate a local LGBT pride festival.
His tires smoke and squeal as the truck veers into the oncoming lane and cars around him honk their horns, either in disgust or celebration of his vandalism.

The video went viral after it was posted to social media.
The streetscape was unveiled just a day earlier to celebrate Pride Month, which is meant to promote LGBTQ rights.
Jerich turned himself in on June 17 to the Delray Police, he declined to comment at the time.
He faces up to five years behind bars and a $5000 fine.
