18-year-old man shot and killed at Roosters restaurant in Columbus
An 18-year-old man was shot and killed at a Roosters restaurant in Northland on Friday night.
Columbus police officers dispatched at 10:16 p.m. Friday to the 2400 block of East Dublin-Granville Road (Route 161 on a report of a shooting found Marshawn Davis suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a police report.
Davis received aid from officers and those who witnessed the shooting, but succumbed to his injuries before paramedics arrived and was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m., the report says.

The Roosters restaurant where the shooting occurred will be closed through Monday.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic event that occurred at out 161 location late Friday evening,” Roosters said in a statement. “We are currently letting the authorities perform their duties. Our hearts go out to the family of the victim, our guests, and our staff.”
Davis’ death was the 14th homicide this year in Columbus and the second in less than 24 hours.
After being called to the 100 block of Midland Avenue at 6:19 a.m. Friday, police found Anthony Wagner, 40, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 6:28 a.m.
The fatal shooting at Roosters also marked the second time in less than a week that gunfire affected a local business.
Maxwell Williams, 24, had been sitting with friends inside Dick’s Den in the Old North on Monday evening when after 11 p.m. a single bullet from an apparent drive-by shooting pierced one of the bar’s street-front windows and struck him in the back.
The popular bluegrass and jazz bar held a fundraiser Friday in which all the money raised from cover charges will be given to Williams, whose family told the Dispatch that the bullet severed his spinal cord, resulting in paralysis from the waist down that will likely be permanent.
