Ohio County Math Field Day Winners Announced | News, Sports, Jobs


The Ohio County Math Field Day contest was held Monday at Wheeling Park High School. Approximately 200 students in grades 4-12 competed in mental math and number sense activities.

The top four students in grades 4-9 and the top 10 students in grades 10-12 advanced to the RESA-6 Math Field Day Competition slated for Saturday, March 26, at WPHS.

Below are the winners in each grade level:

Grade 4

Estimation Room Winner: Landon Kelly, Middle Creek Elementary; First Alternate: Castiel Young, Middle Creek Elementary; Fourth Place: Kaileann Swartz, West Liberty Elementary; Third Place: Abigail Lewis, Elm Grove Elementary; Second Place: Landon Kelly, Middle Creek Elementary; First Place: Hudson Bradshaw, Woodsdale Elementary.

Grade 5

Estimation Room Winner: Sebastien Molina, Woodsdale Elementary; First Alternate: Caroline Wack, Woodsdale Elementary; Fourth Place: Matthew Huff, Warwood Elementary; Third Place: Levi Helms, Woodsdale Elementary; Second Place: Rosalie Dobson, Woodsdale Elementary; First Place: Peilin Yu, Steenrod Elementary.

Grade 6

Estimation Room Winner: Brayden Kempkins, Bridge Street Middle School; First Alternate: Briele Dobson, Triadelphia Middle School ; Fourth Place: Brayden Kempkins, Bridge Street Middle School; Third Place: Molly Bradshaw, Triadelphia Middle School; Second Place: Jacob Breitnger, Warwood Middle School; First Place: Sam Lewis, Bridge Street Middle School.

Grade 7

Estimation Room Winner: Asher Chao, Wheeling Country Day; First Alternate: Tristin Gonzalez, Warwood Middle School; Fourth Place: Owen King, Triadelphia Middle School; Third Place: Rex Montayne, Triadelphia Middle School; Second Place: Asher Chao, Wheeling Country Day; First Place: Alexie Zhao, Triadelphia Middle School.

Grade 8

Grade 9
