GLCAP eyes ODE funds for After School programs
GLCAP board to meet Tuesday
FREMONT — The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for its monthly meeting at 127 S. Front St. For information call 1-800-775-9767 or visit glcap.org.
On the agenda is seeking an Ohio Department of Education grant for up to $1 million fpr an after-school program at Clyde-Green Springs Schools and $1.6 million for Fremont City Schools from April 1, 2022 through Sept. 30, 2024.
At Clyde-Green Springs, nearly 150 students would be served between grades kindergarten and eighth grades and at Fremont City Schools 210 students between grades six and 12.
GLCAP would provide an after-school program to decrease the academic impact of lost instruction time due to the pandemic, and increase student social and emotional strengths plus provide a safe environment for children while their parents work.
Also on the agenda are United Way of Sandusky County Home Delivered Meal Service for seniors with $20,000 in funding from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
Bellevue school board moves meeting to Saturday
BELLEVUE — The special meeting of the Bellevue Board of Education that had been scheduled for Wednesday was rescheduled for 7:45 a.m. Saturday at Bellevue Middle School, 1035 Castalia St. The purpose of the meeting is to enter into executive session to consider the appointment/employment/dismissal of a public employee or official and action on any personnel matters that may come before the Board.
BCS school board to meet Feb. 22
OAK HARBOR — The Benton-Carroll-Salem School District will hold its regular board meeting at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 22. The meeting will be held in the Board of Education Office, 11685 W. Ohio 163.
Mental health board opens period to see funding
TIFFIN — The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board is opening the process to apply for funds for Fiscal Year 2023 (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023). This process is for agencies planning to provide behavioral health services. The due date is March 11, 2022 at 5 p.m. To sign up for the application, visit the Board’s website at mhsosw.org.
