Jeanne M. Williams Obituary – Akron Beacon Journal


) Jeanne Williams, 64, of Akron, passed away January 27, 2022. She was born March 8, 1957 in Akron, Ohio to the late James and Beverly Lewis. Jeanne was a 1975 graduate of Springfield High School. She went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Jeanne enjoyed working with children in several northeast Ohio schools as a Speech Therapist before ultimately changing careers. In 1985 she began employment with the U.S. Postal Service working most of her career at the Akron Plant, she retired in 2016 after 31 years of government service. Jeanne’s hobbies included a love of reading, traveling to Myrtle Beach and Arizona, shopping, decorating, and cooking. She appreciated a variety of musical genres and loved to sing and dance every day. To those that knew Jeanne, knew she had a very unique and uplifting sense of style and taste. Jeanne especially loved spending time with her long-time loving companion, Mike, who brought much happiness to her life. Jeanne knew from a young age that she wanted to be a mom. She was the most wonderful, cute, caring, and kind mother and friend to her three children. Like a lighthouse beacon shining bright was her strength and perseverance to overcome obstacles in life. She was truly a role model to her children and an exceptional human. Besides her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Roger; infant daughter, Beverly; brothers, Jimmy Lewis and twin brothers, Jerry and Jim Davies. She is survived by her loving children, Erica (Gary) Rhinehart, Roger Williams, and Julie Williams; her adored red-headed grandchildren, Riley and Hunter; sisters, Laurie (Mick) Cochran, (Jeanne was his favorite sister-in-law), Cathy (Charlie) Frye and Terri (Mike) Nagle; sisters-in-law, Barb Lewis and Cheryl Davies; and many dear nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Brett Faris officiating. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Jeanne’s name to the Lewis Family Scholarship Inc. at any Chase Bank, or to the family.
