Check Out These Top Sledding Spots Around Columbus

Friends sled at Antrim Park in Columbus

If the arrival of winter compels your kids to slide down any slope, whether on a conventional sled, a tube or some accepted substitute, you’ve probably made many treks to your local sledding hill. This year, if your family doesn’t mind the frosty weather, consider checking out a few new-to-you places to get some downhill thrills.

To help you explore, we’ve assembled a list of some of Central Ohio’s best and most popular sledding spots. Some sites, many of them owned by municipalities and park districts, have official sledding hills. Others, including a number of Columbus city parks, simply have hills and slopes that offer a decent descent.

Remember to put safety first. Don’t sled or snowboard near trees, posts or other fixed objects, and make sure your child wears a helmet. Note the hills and slopes on this list have varying degrees of steepness. Also, be sure to check for pandemic-related protocols. Consider calling ahead or checking websites or social media for up-to-date sledding information and possible closures.
