Tips sought in 2015 double homicide that claimed lives of two fathers


Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the 2015 shooting deaths of two men. 

On Jan. 9, 2015, Jeremy Head, 25, and Javon Starghill, 21, were in a car parked on the 200 block of Harland Drive, located on the city’s South Side, when they were both shot. A 17-year-old who was in the vehicle was also shot.

Head was pronounced dead at the scene and Starghill and the third person were taken to an area hospital, where Starghill died seven days later. The 17-year-old survived their injuries. 

The investigation determined Head was a passenger in the backseat of the vehicle and Starghill was a passenger in the front seat. Witnesses told police there were two men who approached the vehicle and fired on it before running away. 

Javon Starghill, 21, was shot on Jan. 9, 2015, while sitting in a parked car on the city's South Side. His homicide remains unsolved.

Starghill was survived by four children, the youngest of whom was born after his death.

Head also was survived by his children.
