Board of Ed. approves agenda items

Dec. 20—GALLIPOLIS — The Gallipolis City School District’s Board of Education recently held a regular business meeting, approving equipment sales and other agenda items.

The approval to sell the following equipment was made: John Deere Z-Trac 997 Diesel Zero Turn 72″ mower, 2004 Chevrolet 2500 truck, 2001 Chevrolet 3500 dump truck and a 2004 GMC van.

The November financial report and minutes from the Nov. 17 meeting were approved by the board.

The board approved transferring $89,351.61 from the General Fund into the Bond Retirement Fund to repay the HB264 Energy Bond.

A depository agreement with Ohio Valley Bank for the period of Jan. 15, 2022, through Jan. 14, 2027, was approved by the board.

The board approved renewing vision coverage through VSP with a monthly premium of $25.72 from the Dec. 1, 2021, through Nov. 20, 2023.

The board approved membership to the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) and participation in the OSBA Legal Assistance Fund for 2022.

The real estate purchase contract for 423 Mulberry Drive was approved.

An agreement renewal with ArchiveSocial to provide social media archiving from Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022, at the price of $4,788 was approved.

The employment of Bethany Kerr as a bus driver, effective Jan. 3, 2022, and Tammie Martin, substitute cook for the 2021-2022 school year were approved.

During the meeting, Terrance Clayborne and Joshua Branham, Carrier Commercial Systems, gave a presentation on their “solution and value with the HVAC system replacements and upgrades.”

Bryan Martin also addressed the board on Critical Race Theory during the recent meeting.
