Realistar Real Estate brokerage opens new Chillicothe office
CHILLICOTHE — A Columbus real estate brokerage has expanded into Chillicothe with a new office.
Realistar Real Estate Brokerage hosted a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Dec. 9 to celebrate the occasion. The new office is located at 95 Mulberry St. at Canal Crossing.
Realistar Owner and Broker Ronnie Woodrow said the expansion has him excited for the company’s future in the area.
“Right now as we continually grow, we’re not growing based on quantity. It’s quality,” he said. “We’re very strategic on who we allow within the company based on if they fit the overall culture of what we’re trying to accomplish.”
Local realtor and owner of The Holdren Group, Tammy Holdren, will serve as the Chillicothe Area Regional Manager, according to the Realistar website.
Holdren, a Ross County native, began her real estate career in Columbus working for investment firms buying and selling luxury apartments, according to her company bio. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Scioto Valley Realtors and is a political coordinator for Ohio Realtors.
While Realistar is based in Columbus, the brokerage serves a variety of markets across central and southern Ohio, with their footprint stretching from Dublin and Powell to Jackson and Waverly.
Woodrow said realtors have already begun searching for properties in order to increase their selection in the local housing market.
“It’s exceptional, actually,” Woodrow said. “We have agents that are going out of their way, trying to find off-market properties for our clients because we don’t have enough inventories.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic affecting housing markets across the country, Realistar saw relative success according to Woodrow.
“We didn’t have enough homes, and we actually had one of our best years last year during the pandemic,” he said. “This year is probably going to be a pretty close follow-up. We won’t know until January when we look at our numbers, but we’ve had two exceptional years and our agents had some record-breaking years. We’ve had a lot of award winners through several MLSs (Multiple Listing Services).”
What sets Realistar apart from other real estate companies, Woodrow said, is their flexibility.
“We have the ability to change our policies on a dime, and we can quickly make a change while seeing what is working and what isn’t working,” Woodrow said. “We offer some commission splits that are a little aggressive within the industry. We cap our agents out and we give them 100%.”
Realistar’s new office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on weekends.
