Mid-Ohio ESC will offer vaccinations for students 16 and older | COVID-19 – Richland

MANSFIELD — The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) and Galion City Schools will be hosting two voluntary student vaccination clinics for any students ages 16 and older in Richland and Crawford counties.

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered.

Children ages 16 and 17 who are not emancipated must have parent or legal guardian consent. However, parents and guardians are not required to accompany the minor to receive the vaccine.

One clinic will be held April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the MOESC (890 West Fourth Street in Mansfield).

Another clinic will be held April 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Galion High School (472 Portland Way North, Galion).

Both locations will have a follow-up clinic three weeks later for students to receive their second dose.

Registration is open until April 19 at noon. At this time, students will be the only ones able to receive the vaccination at these two clinics.

Vaccination registration will be a two-step process:

• Students interested in receiving the vaccination will need to pre-register (name, date of birth, cell phone, and school email) by clicking on the appropriate link below.

• Once registration is closed, students will receive a scheduling notification where they will be able to select their time slot to receive the vaccination.

Students will be required to bring a completed consent form with a parent or guardian’s signature and a form of identification (driver’s license or permit, school identification or birth certificate) the day of the vaccination clinic.

To be excused from school for the vaccine, students and their families should follow their school’s procedures for medical appointment.

Both clinics will be held in partnership with Discount Drug Mart, Richland County Public Health, Crawford County Public Health and the Galion Health Department.
