Ohio’s roads and bridges are in bad shape, and that could mean a cash bonanza: The Wake

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio’s bridges, roads and other infrastructure are earning poor grades, but that could mean an infusion of cash for the state to bring them back up to shape.

You can listen online here.

The federal government gave Ohio a C-minus for its 1,377 bridges and more than 4,925 miles of highways, rating them in “poor condition.” President Joe Biden’s “American Jobs Plan” would spend $600 billion on transportation infrastructure. That means the plan, if approved, might send a lot of money to Ohio for upgrades. In Cleveland, lawyers are clashing over an affidavit from the former director of the fertility lab at University Hospitals. And the city has applied for $6.5 million from the state to design a “land bridge” downtown from Mall C to the North Coast Harbor on the waterfront.
