Two Cuyahoga County businesses cited for violating Ohio’s coronavirus orders

CLEVELAND, Ohio— State agents on Saturday cited two Cleveland-area restaurants for violating Ohio’s coronavirus orders.

Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit cited Touch of Italy restaurant in Bedford Heights and Truth Social Club in Maple Heights, according to a news release.

Agents found a large crowd inside Touch of Italy about 8:30 p.m. and patrons standing close to each other with little or no social distancing measures. Most of the customers and staff were not wearing face masks, according to the news release.

At the Truth Social Club, agents and Maple Heights police found about 100 people closely congregating about midnight. No social-distancing measures were in place, the news release said.

Two other businesses, Lake Effectz in Madison and the Dog House in Sandusky were also cited.

The cases will be heard by the Ohio Liquor Control Commission. The commission decides whether to dismiss the cases, levy fines or suspend or revoke the businesses’ liquor license.
