Vaping made me jittery and anxious, says student, 21


A student has revealed how an addiction to vaping left him “anxious” and unable to control his emotions. He also developed skin problems.

As part of plans to cut the number of children vaping, a UK-wide ban on disposable vapes has been announced. Micheál Martin, the tanaiste, and Stephen Donnelly, the minister for health, last week indicated their support for the ban and said they hoped to see something similar introduced here.

Children’s doctors say vaping may cause long-term damage to young people’s lungs, hearts and brains. The vapour inhaled contains a small amount of chemicals, including the addictive substance nicotine.
