Licking County Parks District Posts Bid Opportunities

Postings for Local Government projects within Newark and Licking County are opportunities for area businesses to compete for exclusive contracts offered by these agencies. Many small business owners may not be aware of these postings, whereas larger companies routinely monitor and pursue these opportunities as they become available.

In keeping with The Newark Daily Times focus on promoting small business, we will be publishing local projects when they become available for bid, to increase awareness of these revenue possibilities among the community.

Currently, the Licking County Parks Department has a seasonal opportunity for mowing multiple locations within the Licking Park District.  These locations include Infirmary Mound Park, Lobdell Reserve, and Taft Reserve, among others. The closing date for bids on this contract will be October 31st.  This is a larger mowing project, and maps are available on the website within the bid application. This project bid is considered the “Primary work” being sought by the District.

Also found on the application is a bid for “Alternate work” involving mowing along paved, multi-use trails. This is considered a separate project bid, and involves three locations: TJ Evans trail, Panhandle trail, and the Buckeye Scenic trail.

This is a smaller scale opportunity, and can be bid individually on the same application offered for the larger project. In other words, there are two jobs within this contract. A small entrepreneur may see a large project offered in instances like this, and prematurely assume they are not a contender. Increased familiarity with these local opportunities can result in successful bids from large and small businesses alike.

Bid offerings can be found at Lickingcounty.gov/bids.  Sealed bids may be mailed to Licking Park District, P.O. Box 590, Granville OH 43023 or delivered in person to 4309 Lancaster Rd, Granville. (.Last day for submission is Oct. 31st)
