Bow Season in Full Swing For Area Deer Hunters
Licking County has a robust deer population, and this is the time of year that residents take full advantage. Area hunters have been waking up early and venturing into the brisk morning air, intent on finding that deer season trophy. Hunting season has of course been a mainstay of our community since the first Newark settlers. To date, nothing has changed. Area schools have been known to excuse absences on the first day of hunting season…you won’t find that in Cleveland.
In recognition of hunting season, The Newark Daily Times is featuring “Deer of the Day” through bow and gun season.
