2018[a] is an upcoming Indian Malayalam–language disaster drama film written and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph with Akhil P. Dharmajan, featuring Tovino Thomas in the lead role, with Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Narain Ram and Vineeth Sreenivasan in prominent roles. The film is based on the incidents that happened in the 2018 Kerala floods.[2][3][4]

While the National Disaster Response Forces and Central Armed Police Forces were deployed on rescue missions, common folk too fought alongside them and did their best to help people in need.[5]

Filming[edit]
The makers started the principal photography on 27 May 2022, Locations span across different parts of Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Idukki, and Kollam districts. Thirunelveli and Hyderabad were significant locations outside Kerala. The major shooting was done in a 15-acre film set situated in Vaikom. Filming was completed on 12 November 2022.[6]
Release[edit]
The film was initially set to release on 21 April 2023. The director Jude Anthany Joseph himself announced the release date through social media handles. The release was postponed to 5 May 2023.[1]
