Guardians beat A’s in 10th inning for third extra-inning win of 2023

The Guardians notched their third extra-innings win of the 2023 season with a 6-4 win over the Oakland A’s Wednesday afternoon.

In the top of the 10th, Will Brennan brought home the go-ahead run with a fielder’s choice and Steven Kwan made it a 6-4 score with an RBI single. Emmanuel Clase recorded the save in a rebound outing after he blew a save chance earlier in the series.

Guardians (5-2) starting pitcher Hunter Gaddis allowed just one hit and two walks in six scoreless innings. Rookie Tim Herrin, who made the Opening Day roster after Sam Hentges was sidelined with an injury, allowed a three-run home run in the eighth inning to former Cleveland first baseman Jesus Aguilar.
