Mallernee leads Licking County’s Divisions III and IV All-Ohioans
COLUMBUS — The honors continue to pour in for junior Carter Mallernee, who led the Northridge boys basketball team in an unforgettable season.
Mallernee was named to the All-Ohio Division III third team by the Ohio Preps Sportswriters Association on Wednesday. Utica senior Trenton Collins was named to the special mention list in Division III and Newark Catholic senior Eli Morris and Liberty Christian senior Josh Onabanjo each to the honorable mention list in Division IV.
Mallernee, who led the Vikings to the Licking County League-Cardinal Division championship, their first league title in program history, averaged 20.6 points and 2.5 assists per game. He shot 52% from the floor, 42% from 3-point range and 80% from the foul line.
Collins averaged 22.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Morris averaged 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, leading the Green Wave to a district runner-up finish. Onabanjo averaged 15.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
The All-Ohio Divisions I and II teams will be released Thursday afternoon.
