Granville girls lacrosse cruises to win at Gahanna

Amelia Sarap scored on each of her seven shot attempts Saturday, fueling the Granville girls lacrosse team in a 16-2 season-opening victory at Gahanna.

Zoe Gravitt added three goals, Bella Rockwell and Gabby Graves two apiece and Edi Fisher and Gwyn Smith one each for the Blue Aces. Grace Lilly made nine saves.

Newark rallies for win

Jibreel Smith and Drayson Peterson scored two goals apiece Friday, sparking Newark in a 5-2 season-opening victory against visiting Xenia.

Max Frost also scored and recorded two assists with Eli Justice and Luke Miller adding one apiece. Brayden Tosi forced seven turnovers, and Matt Johnson made three saves for the Wildcats, who overcame a 2-0 halftime deficit.
