Bengals continue to bolster o-line with signing of tackle Cody Ford
The Cincinnati Bengals continue to add to their offensive line this offseason as the team just signed tackle Cody Ford to a one-year deal.
Ford, 26, spent the 2022 season with the Arizona Cardinals. Prior to his time in Arizona, he played his first three seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
A second-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft out of Oklahoma, Ford has played both tackle and guard in the NFL. He’s started 32 games and played in 49 giving the Bengals a player with plenty of experience.

Cincinnati’s front office continues to strengthen its protection for franchise quarterback Joe Burrow. The team made a massive free agency splash by acquiring tackle Orlando Brown on Wednesday night. Brown is a four-time Pro Bowl player and his presence immediately upgrades the Bengals’ offensive line.
The addition of Ford is mostly for depth. Right tackle is the position to watch as it’s currently unclear who will be Cincinnati’s starting right tackle come Week 1. With Brown taking over the left tackle spot, it’s likely Jonah Williams will move to the right side. Ford and Jackson Carman enter the season as the depth players but the position will certainly be up for grabs during the offseason and training camp.
Ford and Brown played together at Oklahoma. Over the course of the last two seasons, the Bengals have dealt with a lot of injuries on the offensive line. Adding players like Ford gives the Bengals valuable depth players if any starters were to go down at any point of the season.
Over the course of the last two offseasons, the Bengals have added five offensive linemen in free agency.
