Olivia Strait, Bryce Holmes take Licking County League bowling honors


The Licking County League crowned its top bowlers Saturday following the exhibition tournament at Park Lanes.

Licking Valley’s Olivia Strait earned girls Player of the Year honors, and Heath’s Bryce Holmes earned boys Player of the Year honors. Strait rolled a 199 average in LCL matches, and Holmes averaged a 210.

Lakewood, coached by Scott Price, was honored as the back-to-back girls team champion. Heath, coached by Vicki White, was honored as the boys team champion.

Licking Valley junior Olivia Strait earned Licking County League Bowler of the Year honors.

Joining Strait on the girls first team were Lakewood’s Vica Pletcher, Heath’s Summer Mohler and Granville’s Kamryn Dixon and Emily Travis.

Joining Holmes on the boys first team were Northridge’s Logan Hupp and Grady Cupp, Lakewood’s Koda Warren and Valley’s Jaylee Martin.

Earning girls second-team honors were the Lakewood trio of Amy Smith, Peyton Mellring and Nevaeh Wall, Heath’s Kat Boyd and Zanesville’s Kady Winland.

Heath senior Bryce Holmes earned Licking County League Bowler of the Year honors.

Earning boys second-team honors were Lakewood’s Stewart Poulnott, Heath’s Payton Love, Valley’s Trevor Tucker and Zanesville’s Donovan Tabler and Dillon Rush.

Reaching the girls honorable mention list were the Heath trio of Alexis Martin, Kirsten Cheek and Kayleigh Goings, Granville’s Sarah Ghiassi and Northridge’s Kaylie McCarthy.
