Myles Garrett doing well and following ‘script’ after Pro Bowl injury
Browns star Myles Garrett’s toe may still be hurting him a bit. However, it’s not impacting his sense of humor.
Garrett made his first public comments since suffering a dislocated toe while participating in the Pro Bowl event on Sunday in Las Vegas in a Tuesday afternoon tweet. The tweet shows a picture of him looking up from his phone as he’s walking to the locker room at Allegiant Stadium.
“Me reading the Pro Bowl script (laughing emoji),” Garrett tweeted. “Appreciate everyone checking in, we are all good over here. Go Browns (hands forming a heart emoji)”
Garrett sustained the injury while competing against the Carolina Panthers’ Brian Burns in the “Gridiron Gauntlet” obstacle course challenge, which coincided with the flag football game that replaced the traditional Pro Bowl game. He came up limping after completing a stretch where he had to climb a series of 7-foot walls, then crawl underneath a low table.
After completing the third series of those, Garrett began to limp and exited the field. X-rays taken later were negative and no other procedures were necessary.
Garrett is coming off a season in which he matched his franchise single-season sack record with 16. He was named to his fourth Pro Bowl this season, while being voted to the Associated Press All-Pro second team.
The toe is the latest injury scare for Garrett this season. He sustained a sprained left shoulder and strained right bicep in a late September car accident, injuries which forced him to miss a Week 4 game at Atlanta and which he played through for the remainder of the season.
