Opening Day, home opener announced

The Guardians’ Opening Day Game will be a late one for those in Northeast Ohio.

The Guardians open the 2023 season against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, March 30 with a first pitch time of 10:10 P.M. EST. The Guardians’ second and third games will be late as well — 10:10 P.M. EST on Friday, March 31 and 9:40 P.M. EST on Saturday, April 1.

The Guardians’ home opener at Progressive Field, also against the Mariners, is set for 4:10 P.M. EST on April 7. The club’s first homestand also features a three-game series against the New York Yankees in a rematch of the 2022 American League Division Series. Guardians starting pitcher Triston McKenzie recently said he ‘cannot wait’ for the first matchup against the Yankees after Josh Naylor’s ‘Rock the Baby’ celebration caused a stir with New York players and fans last October.
