No. 2 Men’s Swim and Dive collects three wins versus No. 13 Ohio State and No. 14 Alabama


TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – No. 2 Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving won three events on day one of a two-day tri-meet against No. 13 Ohio State and No. 14 Alabama on Friday at the Alabama Aquatic Center.

Texas opened the day with a sweep on the 1-meter. Freshman Nick Harris earned the win with 379.95 points, followed by juniors Brendan McCourt and Noah Duperre, who scored 363.15 and 349.60 points, respectively.

Jake Foster picked up Texas’ second win of the night, taking first in the 100 breast in 53.49 with Will Chan touching the wall third in 54.22.

Cole Crane added a victory in the 200 fly in 1:46.49, while David Johnston placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 8:50.54 and Daniel Krueger took second in the 50 free in 20.08.

Carson Foster also placed third in the 100 IM, touching the wall in a season-best 48.80.

The Longhorns earned a third-place result in the 200 medley relay, clocking 1:27.15 behind Carson Foster, Chan, Crane and Krueger.

Texas closed out the night with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay behind the quartet of Peter Larson, Carson Foster, Luke Hobson and Krueger.

The Longhorns wrap up competition in Alabama on Saturday. Diving will get underway at 10 a.m. CT and swimming will start at 10:30 a.m. CT.
